How Buckley Digital collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information.

1. Who we are

Buckley Digital (ABN 83 894 208 171) ("we", "us", "our") is an Australian business providing digital services. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and this policy explains how we handle personal information.

2. What this policy covers

This policy applies to personal information we collect through this website, through direct correspondence with us, and in the course of providing services to our clients. "Personal information" has the meaning given to it in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

3. Information we collect

We collect only what we need in order to respond to enquiries and provide our services. That is generally:

  • Information you send us directly — your name, email address, business details and anything else you choose to include when you contact us.
  • Information provided during an engagement — business and account information a client shares with us so that we can carry out agreed work, which may include access to systems and accounts the client owns.
  • Technical information — standard information generated when a browser requests a web page, as described in section 4.

We do not collect sensitive information (such as health, biometric or membership information) and we do not ask for it. We do not buy personal information from third parties, and we do not sell it.

4. This website

This website is a static site. It does not set cookies of its own, it does not run advertising or analytics tracking, and it does not include forms that transmit information to us. The only way to contact us through this site is by email.

  • Hosting logs. Our hosting provider may automatically record standard technical information about requests to the site, such as IP address, browser type, referring page and the time of the request. This is generated by the hosting infrastructure, is used for delivery, security and diagnostics, and is not used by us to identify individual visitors.
  • Web fonts. Pages on this site load typefaces from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser makes a request to Google's servers, which means your IP address and browser details are disclosed to Google as part of serving those files. Google's handling of that information is governed by its own privacy policy.

If we later add forms, analytics or other tracking to this site, we will update this policy before doing so.

5. How we use personal information

We use personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries and communicate with you;
  • prepare proposals, scopes and quotes;
  • provide, manage and support the services we have been engaged to deliver;
  • issue invoices and manage payments;
  • keep records, and meet our legal and tax obligations.

We do not use your personal information for unrelated purposes, and we do not send marketing to people who have not asked to hear from us.

6. Disclosure

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We may disclose it in limited circumstances:

  • Service providers — third parties that support our operations, such as hosting, email, accounting and software providers, who may only handle the information for the purpose of providing that service to us.
  • Advertising and technology platforms — where we are engaged to manage accounts on a client's behalf, information is handled within platforms the client owns and is subject to those platforms' own terms and privacy policies.
  • Where required by law — if disclosure is required or authorised by law, or to protect our legal rights.

7. Overseas disclosure

Some of the service providers and platforms we rely on store or process data outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is handled in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles, but the information may be subject to the laws of the country in which it is held.

8. Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This includes limiting access to information to those who need it and relying on reputable providers for storage and transmission. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy, or for as long as we are required to keep it under law. When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy it or de-identify it.

10. Accessing and correcting your information

You may ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, and you may ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Contact us using the details in section 13. We will respond within a reasonable period. There is no charge for making a request, and if we refuse access we will tell you why in writing.

11. Complaints

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles or mishandled your personal information, please contact us first using the details below so we can look into it. We will acknowledge your complaint and respond within a reasonable period.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or legal obligations. The current version is always the one published on this page, and the date at the top shows when it was last updated.
